  1. Another Monday, another page–let’s keep this streak going!

    Had a lot of fun with this sequence as it uses a common enough plot device–a newscast that speaks directly to the reader about the crisis at hand–but in this case, there really is no hero. As a kid (and now a grown-up kid) I loved in Superman II when Clark Kent, robbed of his powers and beaten up in a diner, is faced with the reality of Zod when he looks at the TV screen. However, in the case of Augie and Mary, they are faced with not only the horrible reality that they can’t run away from their daughter’s destiny to a place of safety, but also the fact they have no real “powers” under their control with which to confront the emerging threats on Earth.
